Salvias are summer superstars, loved by pollinators and gardeners alike. The new Salvia Salgoon series bursts with colour, needs little fuss and brings modern flair to today's gardens. Making them the ultimate choice for effortless seasonal style.

What's so special about Salgoon Salvia

Bursting with charm, this is a truly special variety of the ever-popular perennial salvia. It is a strong, neatly shaped garden plant that is both waterwise and heat resistant. Flowering early in spring and continuing for most of the year, its upright flowers are supported by strong stems.

Salvia, Lake Titicaca shows off perfect blue blooms, while Lake Gardia dazzles with cerise pink flowers. Both varieties feature striking dark calyxes that remain after flowering, giving your garden extra layers of colour and long-lasting interest.

How do you plant and care for Salgoon Salvia

Salvias grow best in a mostly sunny to full sun spot. As they can grow quite big leave them some wiggle room as they will hide their surrounding plants if there is no space. One plant will easily cove most of a square meter.
Always add loads of compost at planting to improve the soil condition. Add BioRock at the same time to boost root growth, giving you a stronger plant. Add a layer of mulch to help conserve moisture and to encourage earthworms to keep the soil aerated.

Feed them with BioOcean our most popular fertiliser in Bedfordview and in my garden at home. With regular feeding, Salgoon will reward you with months of growth and colour

Plant for Pollinators

Salvia are high on the list of important plants for pollinators as well on Wayne’s favourites lineup. Bees in particular are attracted to their strong purple tones and they are high in nectar which keeps them coming back.
Eckards Top Tip: Colours don’t just attract pollinators, they set the mood of your garden.

  • White and Pink give a soft, feminine feel
  • White and Blue for crisp contrast, both shades pop
  • Pink and Blue create calming, relaxing combinations
